Program
SIMTI – Italian Society of Transfusion Medicine and Immunohaematology
“…it contributes to the reduction of the risk of transfusion error…” – ABS064, Blood Transfusion Journal
Donors, institutions and health care professionals met in Rimini to participate in the National Conference of SIMTI, now in its sixth edition (9th – 11th of may 2019).
Even this year the program was very rich, but the main topics were mainly: donor safety, plasma and blood collection. As expressed by Pierluigi Berti, President of SIMTI, this edition of SIMTI wanted to highlight the importance of donor and patient safety. The aim of this debate was to bring to light new strategies and programmes to deal with the future challenges as part of the collection, and to do this in synergy with donor associations.
In correlation with what was discussed during this conference, it was published in the Blood Transfusion journal, the abstract relevant to the system scweb®: “Electronic Transfusion Chart: study of applicability of the Scweb system ® in transfusion surgery, within the chapter on transfusion safety and error prevention”.
